Remember the Children

Rainstorm Fun

Okay, I’ll admit it. I’m a pasty white girl. Why? Because I spend all day locked away from the sun in a laboratory. It’s long, it’s boring, but it pays, so who am I to complain?

The one thing I object to most is being able to see outside, but not BE outside. I love being outside, for all kinds of weather. This is why it should come as no surprise to anyone who knows me that when it was bucketing down rain last night, and lightening and thunder were overhead, I was out dancing in the rain, and taking photos of the amazing lightening.

Dangerous? Yes. Exciting? Yes. Dumb? Probably.

But Sus was right there with me, so at least my friends are as crazy as I am. Besides, it’s nice to feel like a little kid again, splashing through puddles and glorying in the rain. You just can’t beat it after a hot summer day. And since I’ve been unable to go to the community pool because of the “bad” weather, I should take advantage of whatever water fun I can get.

It’s all relative.

Epic thunderstorm in Colorado tonight. Lightening in all directions. Constant thunder, deep rumbling with intermittent ear-splitting cracks. This lightening show was even better than Fourth of July fireworks.
